Hindenburg disaster

This photo ocurred on 6th of May 1937, Sam Shere took this photo in the Hindenburg disaster, in New Jersey. The German Passanger Airship LZ 129 Hindenburg caught fire during its attempt. On board were 97 people: 36 passengers and 61 crewmen. Nobody knows the cause. 36 people died from the explosion. 

Sam Shere was born in 1905. He worked on International News. He took many photos of  WW2

My other hobby

Apart from playing basketball, there's another sport that I practise, mountain bike. Every wednesdays and fridays, I take my bike and I will go around with my friend Lluc. The material we need is just the helmet. We bring water too. 

We leave at four o'clock from l'Armentera, because now there isn't much time of sun. We usually do several routes by different places. We often go to the mountain of "Els Masos de Ventalló". It's 35 minutes to my home. There, we go up the mountain and then we go down very funny and small paths. Another route that we do is "La Muntanya Gran". Go up and down it take us about 2 hours. The best from this mountain is that you can see perfectly El Golf de Roses. My favourite route is "EL Puig Sagalà. It's a mountain with a steep climb, that has a lot of stones and rocks. I like there, because there are lots of different paths that are very funny and it has special views from L'Alt Empordà. 

If we are tired, we ride our bickes to "Els Masos de Ventalló", and we take our dinner, that depends on the season of the year. On Autumn, we catch mushrooms, on Spring, asparagus.

It's a funny hobby that I don't want to leave!

Catalan traditions on Christmas

It's Christmas time, the coldest season of the year and my favourite to. In Catalonia we have more than two weeks to celebrate Christmas, but Christmas Catalan traditions are very different than the others.

Here we beat a trunk with sticks and finally the trunk give us presents. This tradition is called "Caga el Tió", and we celabrate at 24th of December, Christmas Eve. I celabrate this two times: one with my father's family and the other with my mother's familiy. We can't celabrate at the same day because there isn't time, so we celabrate with my mum's family at 23rd. With my mum's family we make the "invisible friend" that consists it consits in give a present to someone that you have assignate in anonimate. It has to include a clue to identificate who had given us the present. It's very cool.

I love Christmas because all the family can stay together, but the most incredible thing are the dinners and lunches. They are dellicious.
